I had thought that Thailand was a safe haven from this sort of impossible-to-open packaging that has become so common in the US. I was very dismayed to find that it has infiltrated Thailand.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to a evil-packaging-free time in Thailand. Unfortunately that's more reason for the world to hate the West.
Hey-Ho, Western Civ has got to...stop making impossible to open plastic packaging that cuts your fingers when you try to open it up.
