Thanksgiving

We had a lot to be thankful for today. This was one of the nicest Thanksgiving holidays we've had in Thailand. We celebrated with our next-door neighbors and many other friends. Our neighbors have been like family to us and we were so glad to be hosted by them. I was very pleased that they had invited so many people that they needed two turkeys. She used my oven for one of them and smells of a cooking turkey filled the kitchen while I made dinner rolls and corn casserole. It can be hard to get into the Thanksgiving spirit here as it's not an official holiday and of course the weather is not right, but smelling turkey all day helped a lot. We were also thankful for the beginning of cool season. Last night, for the first time, I felt that just a sheet was not enough; we will take out our blanket tonight. This afternoon as I was cooking, it was very pleasant and not the sweatbath that cooking in the afternoon usually is.

All the same, we missed our family back in America more than ever. Every holiday I think of what a fun time you must be having together and I miss it so much.

Know that you were missed...and at the same time, we are thankful for what God has called you to, and know that you are loved and needed where you are by the people you are with.

We certainly did miss you all. You always add alot of life to our parties. We had a good time together, tho a smaller gathering, as Derek, Deneen, and kids were with her parents and Betsy and Carl could not get off. Added to that, Ann is in El Salvador and Nicole is in Mexico over break. Your generation is certainly world travelers. Gabe would have loved to watch the Cars movie we showed, altho I suppose he's seen it many times already. Love you, Mom & Dad

Hope you and your family are well! Let me know if you ever can make a long layover through LAX. Also, if you happen to go to Malaysia, my sister (Carol) & her husband are there now doing language training. In other news, Robin & Marcus were in So Cal for a few days. It was good to see them. -tj

Teresa,
Great to hear from you! Wow, I didn't know your sister was married or living in Malaysia. What are their long-term plans? Are you going to MI for the holidays? We'll let you know if we are in LA, but the current plan is for no trips home til 2008 :( Hope you're well.
