Gabe enjoyed another trip to the elephant camp. He's been there at least four times, but it's always exciting to him. This time we got to see a tiny (80kg) one-month old elephant. Gabey thought he was very cute, but would only pet him very cautiously on the behind. The baby was still taller than Gabe.

It really looks as though that elephant is smiling at Gabe. Being around elephants is commonplace for him, and many American children have never even seen an elephant. I remember the elephant that was able to take his mind off his terrifying (because of the dinosaurs) miniature golf experience in Phuket.
Yes, I remember that too. Funny that such a gigantic animal should be comforting.
